I’m going to the Bomber pre-season game and I hope it’s a good game. I’m not really hoping that the Bombers win or lose, there are advantages and disadvantages to both, considering that this game means nothing towards the season.
If the Bombers win tonight and they totally blow the Ti-Cats away, then they might go into the season thinking that they are the best team and that there is nothing that can stop them. When teams start to think that way it sometimes leads to stupid mistakes that a team that is struggling or losing won’t make. On the other hand sometimes when a team is really good, and they know it they work that much harder to maitain their dominance. If they win, but it’s only by a little, then they can see that they have a pretty decent team, but they really need to shae up or they will slip when it really matters and they will lose an important game in the future. But if they don’t win by much then they might see it as a bad thing and figure that they are probably going to have a bad year and that’s the way it will be if they think that.
If they lose and it’s by a lot, then they are either going to really pull everything together and work as hard as they can to stop it from happening in the regular season, or they are going to give up and just play the way they are playing. If they lose, but only by a little, then they could either see that they need to figure out what happened and stop it from happening again, and train that much harder so that they can get better. Or they will not and it will just be a crappy season.
So basically I want to see a good game with an outcome that helps the Bombers get a shot at the Grey Cup this year. But since I got season tickets this year, they will probably suck and no one will want to go to any games, and I’ll be sitting there alone getting frustrated. So it’s up to the Bombers to prove me wrong and win.
Eight Bopmber turnovers yesterday. What the heck!
